The Nightpaper V1
01What is Nightshades?
Nightshades is an onchain survival game by Meebco Labs and Clutch Markets, built around four factions. Each faction has its own collection of Nightshade NFTs and its own faction token, each trading through their own independent AnvilAMM market.
Every 24 hours, The Night falls. It strikes one or multiple factions at random. The struck factions' markets take a real price hit — and the capital claimed by The Night flows into the factions that survive.
02The four factions
The four factions are Ghosts, Zombies, Watchers, and Knights. Each faction holds a quarter of the total Nightshades, with its own token and its own market.
Faction lore is coming.
03NFTs and faction tokens
Nightshade NFTs and faction tokens are two forms of the same exposure, connected through the AnvilAMM. A Nightshade can be exchanged for faction tokens; faction tokens can be used to withdraw a Nightshade from that faction's vault.
Nightshade NFT ⇄ AnvilAMM ⇄ Faction Token ⇄ Uniswap v4 ⇄ ETH
Through the usage of the AnvilAMM, the assets are deflationary over time.
04The Night
Once every 24 hours, verifiable onchain randomness selects one or multiple factions to be struck, with varying intensities.
No one — not the team, not the protocol operator, not any player — chooses the outcome. The draw and its result are verifiable onchain.
05Where the capital goes
As The Night hits, the protocol pauses market trading. It then conducts all relevant operations before reopening trading.
Once The Night has determined which faction or factions are hit, the protocol automatically executes real market operations — selling the struck faction's tokens into its pool and withdrawing liquidity. That liquidity is then used to buy the surviving factions' tokens in their respective pools, increasing the price of those tokens.
The size of every move is bounded by published rules that are the same on every Night. All actions are programmatic.
06The comeback
A struck faction is not eliminated. A share of protocol trading fees flows back into supporting struck factions over time.
The Night does not keep score. A struck faction stands in the next draw like everyone else — it can fall twice in a row, or survive and take the other side, receiving capital from that event while its token trades at a reduced price.
07How you play
Position. Buy, sell, hold, or switch factions while trading is open.
Countdown. The time of the next Night is public.
Resolve. The Night falls. Trading pauses while the event executes.
React. Trading reopens once the event has resolved. The next 24-hour cycle begins.
08Fair by design
- Outcomes decided by verifiable onchain randomness.
- Trading fully paused during event execution — no front-running The Night.
- All liquidity in the faction pools is owned by the protocol. Only the protocol can add or remove liquidity — no one else can LP into the game markets.
- The same published rules apply to every faction, every Night.
09Supply
The Nightshades collection is split equally across the four factions — each faction holds a quarter of the supply. The majority of the supply is distributed through a free allowlist mint for Meebits and Stonkbrokers. The remainder seeds the faction token markets through the AnvilAMM at launch, so the NFTs and the tokens go live together, paired from the first block.
Exact parameters — fees, allowlist criteria, and event schedules — will be published before mint.
This document describes game mechanics. It is not financial advice, and parameters may change before launch.
